Delmas Coop wants to hear from local producers
March 8, 2010 3:50 PM Like
Delmas Co-op general manager Richard Clarmont says he's eager to hear from any islands farmers and gardeners who might have produce to sell this summer.
Mr. Clarmont said he's not yet sure what kind of regulations there might be about selling locally-grown vegetables, but he is making inquiries. Meanwhile, he would be happy to meet with any producers.
Mr. Clarmont said he knows there is growing interest around local food, but so far, no one except Island Joe's Tomatoes has ever approached the Co-op about supplying veggies. Anyone interested should talk to either Mr. Clarmont or grocery manager Tom Martin.
